Today, Hunter says he’s proud of the fashion art they created together on the video—it’s now a big part of Y2K pop culture. “That video is timeless,” he says. Even more special is how Beyoncé has incorporated new versions of the white tank top outfit for her backup dancers on this summer’s Renaissance tour. (This time, the shorts come complete with bejeweled fringed derrières.) Hunter hopes to attend the LA show in September—though he’ll be plenty busy on his own accord this summer. The stylist has a handbag collaboration coming out with A.Cloud and recently released his memoir titled Makeover from Within Lessons in Hardship, Acceptance, and Self Discovery. “I wanted to let people know about the trials and tribulations that I’ve been through and motivate people to keep going,” says Hunter. “Life is hard, and there are always going to be some curves in the road—but as long as you keep going, you can do anything.” Considering he delivered the fashions in one of the best pop videos of all time, we’d have to agree.
