For the initial celebrations, Ratajkowski wore a sheer corseted custom look by Dilara Findikoglu, complete with a pearly, Chanel inspired belt that read “EmRata”. But it’s her second look – a purple sequined Versace minidress sourced from Archive Vintage – that has created the most buzz on social media. The look in question, from Versace’s spring 2002 menswear show, was worn by another It girl some 21 years earlier. Chloë Sevigny wore the same dress at the Versace Couture launch party at the Ritz Paris in July 2002 – months after its debut on the runway, and shared a throwback picture of herself in the dress on her Instagram story, shortly after Emily posted her look online. Ratajkowski has championed vintage Versace before. She wore a look from the Atelier Versace spring 1992 collection to last year’s Met, originally modeled by Yasmeen Ghauri on the runway. Besides Versace, her growing vintage wardrobe also includes archive pieces from Chanel, Armani and Dior. Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, kicked off the impending Coronation celebrations in truly British style on Thursday—in the pub. Not only that, she wore red, white and blue for the occasion. Kate and William popped into the Dog & Duck in Soho, London, at lunchtime to hear how the hospitality industry is prepping for events to formally mark the start of King Charles III’s reign. The couple played the part of typical Londoners for the day, catching the Tube to get to their destination. Appropriately, the pair took the Elizabeth line—named for William’s late grandmother—to Tottenham Court Road.

The Princess of Wales likes dressing to a theme, and her chosen outfit perfectly matched the Union Jack flags that now line London streets. She wore a tailored bright red coat with a demure midi hemline by Eponine London (which had a bright blue lining which you could see flashes of as she walked), worn over a white buttoned shirt dress by Suzannah. Kate’s decision to wear London based designers will also be no accident. The Princess has worn both pieces in the past for similarly British occasions the coat for a visit to Cardiff as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022, and the Suzannah dress for a day at Wimbledon in 2019. She stuck to the same patriotic color scheme with her accessories in Soho an ivory Mulberry Amberley handbag, Gianvito Rossi white heeled pumps and pearl drop earrings by Maria Black.
